Tears

THIRD PERSON'S POV

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The eerie silence fell in the room as she spoke looking at him blankly. Her fear decided to hide in a corner inside her for a while.
He was amused hearing her words. Folding his arms over his chest, he leaned against the wall beside him and raised an eyebrow.
"You won't trouble my parents, ever. You won't trouble Akshat, ever." she gritted and her eyes blazed fire.
He clenched his fist hearing her tone. He was not used to this, no one ever dared to speak like this to him and she, this simple and fragile girl did. He took a deep breath trying to control his anger.
"Done." he said finding her lucky that she was special to him. Otherwise, she would be lying dead somewhere in this room.
"We will marry in two days." The moment he spoke, she looked at him in utter shock.
Yes, she had made up her mind to marry him and sacrifice herself for her family but this soon? What will she tell her parents? she needed a month atleast.
"I..I ca-can't. This is too soon." She muttered in a panicked tone.
"No. I will talk to your parents and we will marry after two days. That's final!" She flinched as his voice got a bit louder as he took a threatening step in her direction.
He was done with her rejecting him everytime. Now, that she was in his clutches completely, he decided to mould her the way he wanted.
His eyes which were looking normal just a second ago, suddenly turned dark and scary. She didn't want to anger him more and so she accepted.
"Okay." she meekly whispered battling her eyelashes to prevent the tears from falling down her cheeks.
A gasp left her mouth as a large hand wrapped around her waist, yanking her closer to the man's chest.
She stiffened in his arms while he gazed down at her with desire filled eyes. His heart was beating at an unusual speed as he felt her soft body pressed against his hard one.
She was looking at him with her big doe like eyes. Fear was clearly evident in those orbs and that, somehow made him happy and satisfied.
"We wouldn't have to go the hard way, you know? He whispered tucking a loose strand of her hair, behind her ear.
"I really wanted to make you feel special but your denial.." she squeezed her eyes shut as he pulled her closer.
His tone showed his anger and displeasure. She wanted to tell him that he can't and will never make her feel special.
The man took a deep breath trying to calm his anger.
"But, it's never too late, is it?" his voice grew softer as he cupped her soft fluffy cheek.
She was feeling disgusted by his mere touch, his hot breath which was fanning her face.
"Answer me, Dhriti!" He demanded sternly.
"N-no." she muttered making him smile.
"And look at me.." he pinched her chin making her look at him, "..when I am talking to you. Got it?" she nodded.
"I want to go home." she said trying to free herself his grip.
"You are home." he husked looking deep into her eyes.
His words terrified her. What did he mean by that? Won't he let her leave, ever?
"Come, I will drop you." He chuckled finally letting go of her.
She heaved a sigh of relief and again nodded.
****
"I will come tomorrow." he stated as she was about to unfasten her seatbelt.
She opened her mouth to protest but then closed it as she had no saying in this. He will do whatever he wants at the end of the day.
"Okay." saying this, she immediately came out of his car.
She let out a long breath finally feeling some air. She was feeling suffocated in that car, in his presence. The cold air blew against her face making her shudder and relieved at the same time.
"Dhriti." She looked in the direction of her father who was approaching her with a smile.
"Come inside. What are you doing here?" He said placing on her shoulder.
"Yeah." Dhiraj's heart clenched seeing the pale face of her daughter.
She was looking different, really different. She never looked this sad, this much broken before. His daughter was always a joyous girl then what happened suddenly?
"Dhriti, we need to talk. Come." He stated calmly guiding her inside their house.
"Tell us. What is bothering you?" He asked once she settled on the couch.
His wife came from the kitchen and asked him through her eyes looking the pale face of her daughter. He just nodded at her, assuring her in his way.
"Beta, don't you trust us?" she instantly looked at her parents and shook her head.
If not them, then who would she trust? The pillar of her support, her parents are her everything. Whatever she is doing, she is doing it for them.
"I..I fe-ell in love, Papa" the words felt bitter on her tongue as she let them out.
Dhiraj and Riva looked at her with shock filled eyes. He didn't miss a drop of tear that trailed down the cheek of his daughter.
"Did that bastard break your heart?" His voice suddenly got a bit louder.
Dhriti laughed internally. He indeed broke her heart but not in the way a lover would do.
"No." she said with a small smile on her face.
"Then why are you looking so sad beta? It's a nice thing that you found love." her mother asked sitting beside her.
She wanted to cry her heart out. A bile rose in her throat, it was getting unbearable.
"I..I th-hought you guys will hate me for..for choosing a guy by myself." she finally broke down in tears in front of her parents.
Though, the reason of her tears was something else. However, her parents took it in the wrong way or maybe in the way Dhriti had wanted them to.
"Stupid girl. Why would we get angry?" Dhiraj sat beside her as well and cradled her in his arms.
She tried not to sob in his embrace. The warmth of his father was everything she needed at this moment.
She felt safe in his arms. In his presence.
"Exactly! Infact, we are really happy, dear." Riva said caressing her hair.
They trust their daughter and her choice. She would never select a bad guy for her. They were happy but sad at the same time thinking their daughter was scared of their reaction.
"Invite him to dinner tonight. We want to meet him." Her father said patting her head.
Dhriti sniffed nodding her head.
"You scared us. We thought something big happened." Her mother chuckled shaking her head.
Dhirti smiled gulping down her tears.
She successfully fed lies to her parents and they, being naive and supportive trusted her as well.
She was cursing the day he saw her. The day when everything was going just fine and then he decided to destroy it.
PAST
"Who was the boy with you?" She looked at him in utter shock.
Why would he ask her something like this?
"None of your concern." She stated trying to meet his gaze confidently.
He was looking scary and his demeanor was screaming nothing but danger. The shade of his grey orbs had turned completely black.
"It is---" she flinched as he hit the door beside her head. He closed his eyes and inhaled sharply before opening them. "It is very much my concern." The way he said it, made chills run down her spine.
She was not liking it. No, this was not right. Something was wrong, terribly wrong. He had no rights to ask her anything related to her personal life. She doesn't even know him and same goes with him.
What's wrong with him?
"Lis-sten, Mr. Singh. I don't want to talk you. Just please let me go." Her voice quivered a bit.
No matter how hard she tried, the man in front of her was way too intimidating and scary.
"Never." She shuddered hearing his words and even though she knew what he was saying still her mind was not ready to accept it.
Tears trailed down her cheeks as the horrifying memory flashed before her eyes. She clenched her eyes shut and shook her head trying to remove all those memories from her mind.
If only it was that simple...
