The loud ringing of my phone broke my slumber and I let out an annoyed sigh. My gaze wet towards the wall clock only to find it was past six in the evening. I could see the darkness overpowering the sunny day outside.

She smiled kissing his cheek, her eyes filled with hope and happiness. ~~~ "I...I wi-ill protect you.." He pleaded, his voice cracking. He took a tentative step forward, but she recoiled, her body trembling with the weight of past pain. She looked at him, her eyes hollow, a tear tracing the line of her cheek as she let out a bitter laugh. "Zakham Dene vale marham lagane ki baat nahi karte..." Is it easy to break a person? That too beyond repair? How can someone be this much cruel to inflict pain on others? Her bruises constantly remind her of the pain she has endured. The pain which broke her completely and made a permanent place of fear in heart, body and soul. She is a victim and this is her story.
